Right away, they lost a star because there was a hair on one of our plates. So cleanliness needs attention to detail. We got the spicy clams and the ox tails in red wine. Both were good, however small portions. Half the clams didn’t have anything in them! So for the price and what we actually received it was disappointing.

I know everyone thinks this is the best place, but I’ve had better in and outside of Chinatown. The spicy chicken was fair to decent. The duck was really good but for true Peking crispy duck you need to go down the street.

Tasty typical delicious chinese flavour. Services is prompt but not attentive. Dishes came out fast. The food portion is a bit on a small side of a scale if compared to value. Will be back to try more dishes when visit SF again.

We got a couple things. The duck blood soup was pretty flavorful and delicious--right amount of spice. I forgot the rest of the names but the dish with the meat in chili oil "lover's delight" maybe thats the name was also delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Only gripe was that they charge for each takeout container and bag--ridiculous! I work at a restaurant and we would never even dare charge for that type of stuff and I've never seen any restaurant do that either...until now.

Egg fried rice was really good. We also got the explosive chilly chicken which was a little too savory spicy for my tastebuds, but overall good food. The service is a bit rushed since there is always a big line for this restaurant.

After experiencing our first night market in Chinatown, our friend surprised us with reservations for Z & Y restaurant. High vibe restaurant. The Prawns were to die for. All the food was amazing. Make sure to specify non spicy. We had lamb and forgot to ask to make it mild so was too hot for my taste.

We dined here on our first evening in San Francisco. Terrific place! The atmosphere reminds me of Chinatown restaurants back home in NYC. Friendly, helpful servers, and boy, did our dishes come up fast! The lamb hot pot was very spicy but enjoyable. The Eggplant, General Tso's Chicken Beef Chow Mein, were all excellent. We weren't crazy about the tea smoked duck or the pork dumplings, but all in all, it was a great place for dinner. I'd certainly come back to sample some of the other dishes.

This is an absolute must try when in Chinatown SF. The food is very authentic and flavorful. We tried the clam specialty dish which was steamed clams in a preserved vegetable soup base with garlic. Super interesting flavor combinations. The chili dumplings were delicious with thinner skin than their traditional Chinese counterparts. The mapo tofu was a wonderful blend of spice and numbing while still having the underlying flavors. The star dish was the tea smoked duck which was absolutely to die for. You wrap it in a thin wrap with chives and sauce. I will come back.
